HuffPo: BP Logo Redesign Contest (PHOTOS)

LogoMyWay.com is holding a contest challenging designers to recreate BP's logo. The contest requests that the designers' new logos communicate the toxic nature of the oil spill, the death of wildlife, and the incompetence shown by BP. The winner, which will be chosen through public voting, will be awarded $200 dollars.

Here are 12 redesigned BP logos currently entered into the contest, which ends this weekend.

The wildlife deaths and the loss of an entire region make me physically ill.

And still the oil continues to gush into the gulf.

14. There is plenty of outrage where I live...

but you're right, I have some people close to me who seem to just blow it off, shrug it off...even think I am too upset... and then they move on.

This is an environmental disaster of the highest magnitude and so many spoiled Americans really can't be bothered as long as things are going all right in their neck of the woods.

But, for the rest of the country, it's just become words on the news, like Iraq became, or Afghanistan, easy to tune out if it's not in your backyard. ;(

Rachel has been leading with this, is right in the middle of it, reporting on it right now. But those of us who tune in to reports like this are already horrified and outraged. I really don't think that most people get how serious this is, and they won't until the oil is outside their front doors... x(
