If you're a teacher, that is. Salazar, Bush/Cheney, and banksters all skate because accountability isn't for the Ruling Class.

Obama wants teacher 'accountability'

President Obama on Tuesday put the nation's teachers on notice that their performance will be tracked and good teachers will be rewarded, while bad teachers will be tossed out of the classroom.

Calling for a "new culture of accountability" in schools, Mr. Obama proposed building on rather than replacing the No Child Left Behind education law signed by President Bush. But Mr. Obama said it's time to put more money, better tracking of teachers' performance, higher standards and real accountability behind the law.

Obama applauds firing of Rhode Island teachers

<edit>

“And that’s what happened in Rhode Island last week at a chronically troubled school, when just 7 percent of 11th graders passed state math tests—7 percent. When a school board wasn’t able to deliver change by other means, they voted to lay off the faculty and the staff. As my Education Secretary, Arne Duncan, says, our kids get only one chance at an education, and we need to get it right.”

The president deliberately made no reference to the fact that high rates of poverty are the surest indicators of low test score results, and that teachers in Central Falls—the poorest city in Rhode Island, like their counterparts in Detroit, Baltimore and other impoverished cities—are already going beyond the call of duty to help children while being forced to teach in overcrowded and chronically under-funded classrooms.

6. You make a good point. If one assumes these people are insane,
their actions begin to make a kind of sense.

4. The Rolling Stone article on the MMS, Salazar and the oil spill is just damning
The facts of the matter- when they come out and become broad public knowledge- and they will are going to do incalculable political damage.

Salazar won't last to the end of the year...
