OJ lawyer to make high court appeal for new trial
Source: AP

LAS VEGAS — O.J. Simpson's lawyer says time could be the biggest hurdle he'll face when he asks the Nevada Supreme Court on Friday
to overturn the imprisoned former football star's conviction in a September 2007 hotel room heist and grant a new trial.

"We only have 15 minutes to make our arguments. It really is daunting," Yale Galanter said Thursday. "But what the public doesn't know is that
there are hundreds of pages of briefs that have already been filed."

1. With all the problems in the nation and the world, I don't want my
DU and my TV filled with more OJ stuff.

Let him rot in jail, that murderer, he should be sitting next to Scott Peterson, in my opinon, on death row.

3. Agree...
However, it is less than satisfying that he sits there--not for murdering two people-- but for an incident that reflects only how stupid (and arrogant) he is.

5. Don't worry he will not get to leave jail for his appeal
His lawyer gets 15 minutes in front of the Nevada Supreme Court and that is it
because his case will not even get a sniff from the Supreme Court. O.J. in all
likelihood will fade away and die in jail as a broken old man.

2. Don't make me laugh
"An unbiased jury listened to a monthlong trial, reviewed hours of recordings and deliberated 13 hours before announcing their guilty verdict," ...Clark County District Attorney David Roger...said Thursday.

Didn't OJ's murder trial last more than nine months, and didn't the jury acquit him in less than two hours?

6. That could be, of course the whole thing with the police officer
perjuring himself under oath might have played a small role in it as well.

14. More likely they were so pissed at being incarerated themselves
the verdict was the perfect way to get revenge.

7. I hope you never sit on a jury
because the comments here show that you're unfit to do.

8. I have sat on a jury thank you very much but thanx for the Kiwi love.
BTW by DNA, footprints, fingerprints, blood drops, hair and fiber evidence the odds that O.J.
was not involved in the killings was 1 in 55,000,000,000.

9. You don't prosecute and punish a person for crime (or bad act) #1 in case #2
which any honest and objective person knows is what went on here.

The current case is worth maybe a year or two- which is what any other defendant would have been facing. If they were prosecuted at all.

10. O.J. and company had multiple felony charges against him in case # 2
Such as using a firearm in the commission of a crime which is an automatic
5 years (something like that) to start w/ ...... he also had kidnapping and armed
robbery charges too.

13. Based on the facts of the case- that was major overcharging
Edited on Fri Jun-11-10 11:55 AM by depakid
Every lawyer knows it- and many have seen it first hand in other cases.

Vegas PD is even on record stating that they wanted to get him based on what happened in LA.

That's not how a proper and ethical justice system operates.
