Arpaio attorneys cut off from county funds - including SB1070 author Kobach
Poor Sheriff Joe - his access to RICO funds have been frozen until he shows his own (financial) documents. He won't produce them citing conflict of interest by the Maricopa County Board. Yeah right. Joe is in a heap of trouble.

Kris Kobach is running for SoS in Kansas. He is anti-immigrant and most likely a white supremacist. He conspired with Russell Pearce to write the infamous SB1070, Arizona's anti-brown people law.

Arpaio attorneys cut off from county funds

A pair of attorneys tending to high-profile issues for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office won't get paid any more for their services until county officials get a better handle on spending in Sheriff Joe Arpaio's agency.

The Sheriff's Office's contract with Kris Kobach, an attorney from Kansas who helped write Arizona's controversial new immigration law, was terminated last month when a representative for interim County Attorney Rick Romley sent a letter announcing the change.

Another attorney representing Arpaio in the U.S. Justice Department's civil-rights investigation into racial-profiling allegations has received more than $150,000 for his work so far. But Maricopa County officials said Thursday they were surprised to learn of Robert Driscoll's compensation, which they believe came from an outside account holding anti-racketeering RICO funds.

"It is, I think, further evidence of potential problems with spending of public monies by the Sheriff's Office," said county spokeswoman Cari Gerchick. "We can't imagine it's an appropriate use of funds."

Kobach has become a national figure in the immigration debate since Gov. Jan Brewer signed Senate Bill 1070 into law in April. Even before then, he had influenced policies at the Sheriff's Office.

Kobach was hired in November to advise then-County Attorney Andrew Thomas' office and the Sheriff's Office on matters related to immigration and law enforcement. Kobach produced a two-hour training video for deputies that included advice on factors that constitute reasonable suspicion that someone is in the country illegally.

16. Field is getting crowded
He's running against a moderate repuke and the moderate repukes in Kansas usually win state wide races. There is at least one other repuke on the ballot. The Dems have at least two candidates, maybe three.

KKKris has run a couple times before and lost. He ran for Congress and was trounced by the Democratic incumbent. He seriously has only the fringe right behind him. And they are loud but not victorious here.

It's an interesting dynamic in this state. It's almost like we have three parties. The Republicans, the Democrats and the far right whackos. The far righties are the ones who got on the state board of education and threw out evolution. And the Republicans hate the far right more than they hate the Democrats.

So no, I don't think KKKris will win his election.

8. Me too. So far all I've seen is a plea for money to get an ANTI-boycott ad on the air.
And that I refuse to help them with.

15. That video is sort of wonderfully ambiguous!
"You think you're outraged?" could mean anything.

LOL

13. The next election will likely highlight the $$ he's wasted on his frivolous vendettas.
I wonder if there's a tally of the money he and his BFF have spent on attorney's fees, etc., to fight his windmills. The man is paranoid.
