How many in government DON'T match this definition: "Compromise oneself for money or other gains"
First, can anyone tell me what the word is that best suits this definition? And secondly, can you tell me anyone in government who does not fit this definition in some way?

I can count on one hand the number of people in government who are creative, courageous, intelligent and give a shit about the welfare of the people. But in a land of over 300 million isn't it disgraceful to have so few real 'leaders' who aren't defined with the above words?

What causes people to lose all of their moral or ethical values when they get elected? Or did they ever have them in the first place?

I keep seeing one thing happen after another to MY country and yet no leaders are stepping forward to take the reins and forcibly counter the attacks against the country I served. If I was a leader in congress, or anywhere else in government, I would be raising hell every day. No, I wouldn't be acting like a lunatic by yelling and screaming. But I would be forcibly acting in the best interests of the people and the country. I would act with courage, not timidity. I certainly WOULD NOT be acting in a way where ANYONE could define me with the words above.

It's sad how so many people aren't holding their 'leaders' accountable or forcing them to act when our country is facing such great peril. Do people have such low standards for their 'leaders' that they expect them all to fit the definition above?

Sad, very sad...

1. I believe the word is "prostitution"
The love of money is the root of all evil... evil is an insidious thing. I believe that some people can go through life quite innocently, wishing the best for all concerned in whatever the situation. But when confronted with extreme power or money, all bets are off and an evil side emerges.

I'd like to hear the names on your list...
