I admit to not having been a follower of politifact before they started fact checking This Week

but man are they horrid. Remember the exchange between Cheney and Huffington. They only checked Huffington on the statement that Halliburton defrauded the government of hundreds of millions of dollars in Iraq. Rating half true. Grounds she was right about the money, right that they had been sued for fraud, but since some of the money might have been spent on luxuries for troops they objected to defrauded. From the same show they fact checked Will for his comment about the 1956 World Series that the last pitch was a foot and a half high and outside. Rating half true (they decided it was likely boarderline high and outside.).

Simply amazing. Arianna was found to be half true on the grounds that since the government hadn't called all the disallowed expenses outright fraud the word defrauded was too strong. Will was wrong about where the pitch was, wrong about the fact the umpire was on his last game, wrong about the supposed motive of the umpire, but he is also half true. Oh, and no check on any thing Cheney said, not a single, solitary word.
