And it won't be any of the locals.

I can't confirm the story but one of the workers at a school I'm doing a project on said on Friday that the night before there were two guys on a fancy yacht that told a news crew they were both getting $2000 a day to help clean up the oil. He said only one guy was working and was using a small tin can to scope up the oil and empty it in a five gallon bucket. If true you know it has to be two friends or relatives of some politician.

Anybody see the story? I've looked but can't find it on YouTube or anywhere else.

1. The term "spillionaire" was coined during the Exxon Valdez catastrophe.

2. I'm skeptical about this.
My best friend told me two weeks ago that he heard BP was paying people $200 per hour. I have a friend up in Ohio who has been looking for work for a while now, so I told him about it and he checked it out. He said they are paying $7-$12 per hour. It's possible that he didn't research it thoroughly or maybe the information he found was incomplete, but that is a big difference in pay scales if true.

3. If anybody figures out a way to clean it up, she can have all of BP's $ as far as I'm concerned

4. See
DU: In search of Lithium: The battle for the 3rd element" - Is Afganistan The New Bolivia? dor a dystopian view. Also think Tesla, Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt, etc. The oil spill was our "Whaler ESSEX" event. The folks with developed or developable replacements for gasoline will do well.
