The colors, the splotches wrapped onto the rolling surface of the wave. What an image.

26. Deadly waves of poisons should not exist on this world. |
|
cwydro, I don't think there is such a thing as too upset over this. I lived in FtL and Miami for almost 20 yrs, had to move after H Andrew, the house was not directly hit, but the 40yr old roof leaked like a sieve after. I saw a lot of enviro destruction while I lived in So Fla too, and the changes to the Everglades from draining them the droughts and break of the rain cycles, fires.
I grew up in WV where there is strip mining and clear cutting. We are destroying our planets 'infrastructure' faster than it can be replaced and grow back. Strip mines disturbed me greatly from the first time I saw one at about age 5.
We now live in N Central NC in rural wooded area, I keep seeing clear cuts off of land around here, mostly it is older folks who have lost their incomes when the textile, furniture, tobacco factories moved out of the area so it is being done out of financial necessity.
I remember the Potomac river being so polluted when I was a kid and the change after the factories and mines were stopped from dumping into it..to this day I wonder what effects there might be on the denizens of WDC since things like plastic and dioxins can bleed out of the old landfills because a lot of waste went into one that I know of that is right next to the river and a chemical factory, rubber tire plant, paper mill and some coal processing went on in that area when I was a kid in the 60s.
