Glenn Beck just suffered its worst ratings week of the year
I told you the summer swoon was coming.

In a ratings preview of what's likely to come for the Fox News host, whose show has traditionally not performed well during the summer months, just-released Nielsen ratings numbers from last week confirm that Glenn Beck posted its weakest numbers of the entire year. (Cue the Beck whining/spinning.)

Even worse for Beck? Last Friday's program was his single lowest-rating show of the year.

For the June 11 airing, Glenn Beck attracted 1.74 million viewers. Glenn Beck's previous, non-vacation, low for the year came on May 14, which drew 1.77 million viewers. And yes, those tallies are almost exactly half the daily audience the show was landing at its peak in January.

How soft were last week's numbers? On only one of the five weekdays, June 9, did Glenn Beck draw more than 2 million viewers. In other words, for most of 2010 it's been unusual for Glenn Beck to fall below the 2 million-viewer mark. It had only happened a handful of times all year. But last week, it happened on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Looks like it's going to be a long summer for Beck, even though he claims he's poised to change the course of U.S. history in August.

I'm a bit of a cable news ratings junkie. I noticed that meanwhile KO and Maddow ratings seem to be increasing lately. KO has about half of Beck's ratings which is decent for MSNBC.

2. Got to get more bats
I think FOX will move Glen's studio to Carlsbad Caverns. That way he can have a direct line to all the batshit he needs for a really great show.

3. He'll just have to go crazier. It's the only solution.
Hard to do though.

12. Watched him lately? He's nearing the event horizon of total lunacy.
I think even his fans are starting to worry.

6. Fun to watch FAKES News bleed money!
:nopity:

Are they still resorting to airing gold bugs and survival seed companies to fill their advertising slots?

19. I honestly thought it was a joke ...

... the first time I heard the commercial for survival seeds. I kept waiting for some kind of zinger or punch line
but it never happened. So when it was over my jaw dropped and I said to myself god damn, they're serious :wow:

9. Still 1.77 million watching this nut case is not encouraging.
I used to force my self to watch FOX just to see what they were saying, something I can no longer do. Just the sight of Glen Beck no matter how fleeting makes me sick.

10. I just depend on KO, MSNBC, Jon Stewart, Colbert, Media Matters
to inform me of the outrageous crap they say, especially Beck.

I can hardly believe Beck gets 2 million viewers.

16. CNN is dying
In the 25-54 demo last night a bit under 200,000 except for Blitzer's 2nd hour which was 232,000 and AC360 301,000.

Total viewers they never got above 800,000 for the night.

MSNBC took them at 7, 8 and 9PM hours. Of course Faux is still the top dog.

18. Thank you, Rambo.
I've mainly been watching Anderson Cooper 360 for reporting from the coast. His work there should earn him a Pulitzer.

21. I agree
AC has been excellent recently. He is good at this kind of thing, covering hot spots live, and completely wasted in studio when he tries to be cute and is just boring. He was good also the long time he spent in Haiti and if I remember correctly his katrina coverage was also very good.

23. I agree - I think Anderson Cooper and Rachel Maddow
have been doing some of the best reporting on the BP Oil Spill.

Maddow was really good last week when she was in LA.

14. Monday night before big release of his new book
Beck just barely got 2 million. 2,079 total.

As I mentioned, KO & Maddow's ratings have been growing actually doing better than they did in the winter.

In the 25-54 demo and in total viewers KO had 319,000, 1,262,000 and Maddow had 312,000, 1,218,000. Beck had 479,000, and 2,079,000.

Beck's Bullshit Hour will go down in the books as the biggest failure ever to hit the air waves.
