30 years down the road, when I will likely be dead and gone.. |
|
The people who come after us will either be proclaiming the leadership of President Obama when he took the oil disaster in the Gulf to turn the country away from an oil dependent society slowly falling into economic stagnation....
or.....
If only out parents had listen to the president that night in June way back in 2010...

I, too will likely be taking the Big Nap in 30 years. Although my genes are out of the pool, I still worry.

4. The president that needed to be listened to and believed was Jimmy Carter in 1979. |
|
Why aren't the kids now asking their parents now why they didn't listen back then? That was over 30 years ago and the truth is that it probably won't really happen 30 years from now either.

6. Kids today have lived with high gas prices for years now with no waiting lines. |
|
I started driving in 1970 and got to enjoy a few years of that 25 cent a gallon gas so when the price went up and the lines formed that was quite the shock. We didn't learn from back then though. We should have listened to Carter. Had we, just think where we might have been these 30 years later.

7. I remember those days as well... |
|
I worked at a Clark station back then and remember the lines...
But that was then and this is now.
If you were young back then what would stick in your mind, the lines or the cheap gas.
The price of gas is realtive.
Gas is about 10x more expensive now that it was back then.
A Resse cup is 12 time more than it was back then and smaller to boot.
Long lines last in the mind. A slow creep in prices do not...
