For crying out loud, part deux
He is stupid --- he is one of the smartest people in the country

He was late okaying the sand berms --- the sand berms are stupid

He negotiated a whopping 20 bil with no cap --- He gave away the farm to BP

Would you rather have good speaches or good results? --- I am a prime time pundit and I can give a
better speech than the president.

He is not superman --- Rachel is.

I have an idea. How about going out and interviewing people or bringing them in and interviewing them about ideas that will work or might work or need to be tried, cause every minute we spend calling the president stupid and re writing his speeches is another dophin or turtle or pelican or shimp's last moment on this earth.

I hope there is not another part trois tomorrow night.

/rant off

1. Um. Rachel has been interviewing people who have ideas for cleaning it up.
I take it you haven't been watching her coverage. It's been outstanding.

5. The USA has a problem
The USA has a problem as a society.

For a developed nation you would think that the media instead of playing political football for their corporate masters would be organizing people to go down to the Gulf to clean up the oil. The same people say the government should be spending money to improve services and acting quickly. The same people say that the government shouldn't be involved in people's health. The same people stipped bare emergency services that could have been used. The same people deregulated corporations so much that they were mini governments. The same people allowed the stand down on 9/11 when more people could have been saved. The same people have allowed the multibillion corporations feast on the small people, stripped people's assets so they are now on the street without home, job and healthcare.

Don't give me this balony about Obama is not a leader, he's too slow etc. He was promoting renewable energy years ago and is uncomfortable with oil. This is the first president who has actually reached out to rest of the world and they have responded to help with the oil spill - but guess who was trying to stop it - yes the corporations.

8. The hubris of that was over-the-top.

I'm with ya.

Rachel better shit or get off the pot and run for office. Otherwise she just went down Beck territory with the fake hysterics (or is theatrics?).

Even though she was questioning why no sand berms before and now is doing a complete 180, at least she did have a "professor" on, just after doing the tired bit about Obama mentioning that Chu is a Nobel prize winner. My wife made me turn the channel. Cable news is pretty much dead. It's the echo chamber recreated for the TV. The fact that we sit her in argue over fucking talking head assholes tells you how broken our media is systemically. We have no rational voices speaking solely for educational purposes. It's about all about me and my ratings.

9. Obama could have answered that question
in his speech, in an overall explanation of what is being done to protect the shoreline. Many people wonder why sand berms and other techniques are not being used sufficiently? Jindal has brought that issue front and center. Certainly Obama was aware of it. Why didn't he discuss it? Speculation on many issues is being fueled by lack of knowledge. He didn't do much to lay some of these issues to rest.

10. Except after a week or so of hammering him on that fact
it turns out that as soon as he brings up the possibility she did an about face and now thinks its a horrible idea.

But who gives a crap anyway, each and very talking head has their own self-contradictions. Apparently someone I have a lot of respect for is not immune to the impact that the TV spectacle has on the memory. She herself was cheerleading the sand berms not too long ago and now all of the sudden they are the dumbest thing ever.
