Bullying Snob Demands the Governorship
http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/index.html?story=%2Fpolitics%2Fwar_room%2F2010%2F06%2F17%2Fwhitman_class_privilege

We don't know exactly what's true in the charges that have been flung against various members of Meg Whitman's family, and against the Republican gubernatorial candidate herself. What we do know, however, is that she and each of her sons have been accused of atrocious acts that bear a surprising family resemblance.

The candidate herself has been accused of shoving an employee while she was in charge at eBay. Apparently, a staff member named Young Mi Kim was helping Whitman prepare for an online interview. Whitman seems to have been unhappy with Kim's briefing, and either shoved her, or "physically guided her" out of the room. The resulting lawsuit was settled out of court and included a confidentiality agreement.

As Alex Pareene wrote yesterday, we recently found out that one of Whitman's sons, Griffith Rutherford Harsh V, was arrested in 2006 for battery, after breaking a woman's ankle at a bar in Palo Alto. Harsh, who was 21 at the time, apparently pushed Victoria Sanchez after she knocked off his hat and said, "Fuck your fraternity." Harsh disputed the story, saying she had pushed him and then stumbled, but a security guard corroborated Sanchez's account. Whitman bailed her son out, and charges were eventually dismissed.

Griff Harsh's younger brother Will, meanwhile, was supposedly banned from an eating club at Princeton, where he was a student, for using the n-word. As it's reported, he had already been put on notice for picking a fight with a bouncer, and the racial slur was the last straw.

3. Griffith. Rutherford. Harsh. V.
The woman names her son Griffith-Rutherford-Harsh-the-fifth?

I think that pretty much says everything anyone might need to know about her. She is not one of us, she feels she is superior to most others.

It sounds like this family has a history of abuse, and getting what they want. Let's hope she can't buy her way into the Governorship.

5. She has no idea who she's up against
I've seen the new ad about some journalist who keeps asking her why she's not voted in the past. First she says she should have but he keeps asking why and she just digs a bigger and bigger hole because she doesn't have an answer. Finally she puts an end to the questions and leaves.

She's already limping. Funny how so many get waylaid nowadays just as soon as they win a nomination.

It's actually fun to watch them fall flat on their faces as soon as they win.

6. She'll go Palin and refuse to talk to the media
and instead use all that money to buy air time with glowing ads about how great a CEO she was. Oh, and a great mom, too, surrounded by her adoring children.

Bank on it.

18. It won't matter what she does. The ads are against her and about her
She can't do anything about what ads are aired about her.

7. Why bother with the inconvenience of voting your viewpoint when you can just buy it?
Stand in line with the little people? Ugh. It's just so . . . outre.

15. How stupid is a person who spends millions buying a job that
pays $150,000 a year. If she's in it for the power, she'd better talk to Arnold to find out how little power the governor actually has who doesn't have the charisma to be persuasive.

As for her sons, as an ex-bartender, they seem like the typical young, wealthy Republican punks who feel they are entitled to be the biggest asses they can be because mommy will get her lawyers on it to clean up the mess. I banned the badly behaving 22 year old son of a wealthy movie star, who screamed at me, "Do you know who my mother is? You'll pay for this!" The fact is the law was on my side and there was nothing mommy dearest and her lawyers could do about it other than buying the place and firing me but the place wasn't for sale.

17. Not really. She's not well known today and harks to the forties.
I'm also wary of being sued by naming names. Although she has died, her rotten son is still alive.
