Barton is getting TORN UP in the Committee Hearing!!
A question to Hayward DIRECTLY asking if they were shaken down and if the fund was a slush fund!

Barton is GOING DOWN!!!!

Well, he went down, any way.

Barton also suggested government shouldn't have any control over BP!

2. Ten seconds from now, Barton won't remember a thing
He's just grandstanding for cheap political points and his fake outrage on behalf of BP has all the sincerity of a dinner theater romance play.

10. He apologize TO Hayward
for Obama "shaking him down" and creating a "Slush fund" out of the money he shook BP down for.

The GOP is FUCKED!

Six months from what should have been sweeping wins for the GOP, and Joe Barton handed a major issue to the Dems singlehandedly!

was? That must have been fascinating.

Poor little negligent BP oil company.

6. No to shakedown, no to slush fund.
Unequivocal no to both.

A Republican from Ohio opened the door for Hayward to blame it on MMS after those questions, and he wouldn't go down that road.

Hayward's answers are stonewalling against the Dems, but it looks like the GOP members are more frustrated.

20. Thank you..looks like they're trying
to do the right thing..even if they can't be trusted completely.

Afterall this all happened because they didn't do the right thing with their saftey net.

27. Which safety net are you referring to?
The acoustic blowout preventer that cost $500,000 and they did not pay for? The clean-up plan for the Gulf with walrus in it?

They are a joke and had no safety net whatsoever.

12. Hayward didn't answer - it was part of Barton's statement so he didn't
require a response. I don't know if the look on Tony's face said "why the fuck are you telling ME this?" or "keep it up, let's eat up the clock."

14. No, Congressman Haley asked Hayward if he though it was a shakedown for a slush fund
in the hearing. This was just a few minutes ago.

Hayward said no, it wasn't a shakedown and this is not a slush fund.

for the clarification - and I'm glad Haley pressed the question.

9. They always do this. Congress yells at the bad guys to
make political points, then absolutely nothing happens. It's a show to do nothing, to maintain the status quo. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear absolutely nothing will change.

17. Well, some things will change. Just wherever the oil and dispersants land. Maybe we should relocate
Congress to the worst stricken part of the Gulf and tell them they have to live there until they come up with strict regulations _and_ a visionary new energy policy that will truly get us off of fossil fuels.

there has only been $25 in donations.
