What an ARROGANT SOB Tony Hayward is!!! (I'm watching the congressional hearing now)
I can't stand to even look at that sociopath as he is being questioned by members of congress. But I want to hear what he says and the way he lies or avoids answering questions. All corporations use identical corporate-speak to avoid any responsibility. They avoid, evade and outright lie.

It's obvious Tony Hayward thinks he is better than anyone in that congressional hearing room and looks like he holds the proceedings with contempt. I suppose he has never had to answer to anyone since he is an 'oil god'. Multinational corporations are more powerful than most governments and thugs like Hayward are like mini-dictators. Their money is equivalent to their army that can seize anything they want through the purchase of politicians eager to sell out their fellow countrymen.

When questioned about who was responsible Tony Hayward blathered out the same old corporate-speak saying if anyone who put costs over safety it would be addressed. He refused to admit that he is responsible for any wrongdoing. Just like in most corporations, CEOs are virtually immune from personal liability. Occasionally a CEO will get caught and thrown in jail, but usually it's just a token sentence in a country club prison. And when they get out of prison they still have their mansions and fortunes intact.

Sociopathic thugs like Tony Hayward should be thrown in prison because under his watch as CEO his company committed one safety violation after another. Of course, since corporations write the laws that affect them any punishments are usually small, token fines for every offense they commit. The cost of fines is factored into the way they do business like any other corporate expense.

We need tougher laws where if a law is violated repeatedly it will subject the CEO of a company to prison time, very long prison sentences. I am sick of seeing one corporate criminal after another get away with hurting other people and destroying my country's environment.

16. He has a 'life' but what he means is he wants to return to his country club lifestyle.
What a sociopath, totally void of empathy or compassion...

3. Proof
His demeanor is proof that the people that rise to the top of modern corporate power are outright sociopaths.

Hell, look at GWB. He's an outright sociopath and we elected him to two terms. (If you exclude the 2000 Supreme Court ruling of 2000 and the rigged electronic voting machines in 2004)

6. they should be charged under the RICO acts.
that way, we can seize their personal property, which is all that Hayward and his ilk care about.

9. It's a grand act
He knows they have all these errors on paper. He's lying through his teeth and what's more he's pissed - missing his World Cup and cricket season.

I agree with Simmons on Ratigan - He deserves an Oscar - throw the bastard in jail.

11. I agree, put him in jail but then submit him to public dunkings in toxic crude every day.
The prison could set up a PPV so people could watch him getting dunked once a day. And the money could go to the families of the people Hayward killed or the other people who had their livelihoods destroyed.

Better still, we could have a lottery when if you are selected you would be able to pull the crank that dunked Hayward in hot oil. It would provide good entertainment and also make people feel good that we actually have a judicial system that works for both the poor and the rich.

18. How can someone be totally clueless and be CEO?
I liked what KO said about a manager of a Dairy Queen being interchaneable with any CEO. It must be nice to make millions a year and not know a damned thing. But of course Hayward knew what was going on at that well but he was deliberately lying. I hope congress can get him on at least a perjury charge and throw him in prison and make sure he has a lovelorn 300 pound Bubba as his cellmate who wants to make 'love' with him in all the wrong places. What would be great would be to incarcerate him in a Louisianna prison full of angry Cajuns who would all take turns with him.

Oh yeah, did I mention that I am mad at Tony Hayward?
