Imagine Bush doing a "Prime Minister's Questions" type event every week.. |
|
Edited on Thu May-10-07 12:10 AM by Wetzelbill
I'd just love to see Bush have to go to Congress every week like Blair, or any other British PM, has to do. I will say this, Blair is pretty impressive in these, at least the times I watched. He was getting hammered from all sides, but was articulate and engaging.
I'd love to see the "Commander Guy" try doing that. He'd probably run out crying looking for a lollipop. He's a liability even when his events are scripted out and the crowd consists of pure Bushbots who ask him the softest questions imaginable.

The Brits, unlike most American politicians, are trained in debate, and sharpen their skills at Oxford or Cambridge, doing frequent debates.
Unlike America, the British expect their politicians to be able to SPEAK and THINK.

3. Speak and think at the same time? |

W hasn't yet conquered one of those tasks much less two at the same time.

8. oh he'd be in serious trouble |
|
Bill Clinton, now he could do something like that. Bush, not in this effing lifetime. The ones I watched the opposition was just brutal with Blair, and he still did great. Bush could not handle that.

4. Great idea. Let's see Bush face the hard questions without a net, I mean a wire. |

5. The Democrat that moves into the White House in 2009 should start doing this. |
|
It would be a good precedent to establish.

6. If we had a parliamentary system like Britain, Bush |

wouldn't last six weeks. You have to be articulate and be able to think on your feet. In fact you have to be able to think...period.

9. Busholini would have lasted a week or less. |

He would have been laughed out of the sessions.
I witnessed him trying to explain the Rethug SS Plan. He tried about three times. People just sat there eyes glazed over. Finally he stopped trying. This man has brain damage.

Make 'em accountable on the spot, as they should be. And of course, Bush couldn't handle it. All the more reason why we need to have it.
