Very late Father's Day story...
The place: My sister's house, back porch overlooking the pool.
The players: My sister, My dad, my mom, my mom's fellah, who also is my sister's father-in-law (long story), and myself. My sister's kids are playing in the pool.
Synopsis: My mother is describing a new street sin that her neighbors have assembled to protect a family of wild turkey's that have adopted her neighborhood. The small sign has two large turkeys and a family of smaller ones with the text reading " Caution. Turkeys crossing." Mom thought it was cute. Her fellah chimed in that he wanted to put Obama's name on it.

I responded by saying, "I get it. You think the president is a turkey."
There was his opening. "Are you still happy that you voted for him?", he asked.
I was honest. "I'm not happy with some of the things he has done, or how he has handled certain situations, but on a whole, yes. I think he is doing a much better job than would McCain and the idiot."
He:"Name one thing he has done so far?"
Me:"Weaker than I would have liked, but healthcare passed. And the Stimulus worked, unemployment is down."
He:"He didn't create one job. Not one!"
Me:"He..."
He:"Bet he wished he was still a community activist. That's all he is, a community activist."
Me:"He's a constitutional Scholar, he was a ..."
He:"Y'hear about those billboards down south? With George Bush "miss me yet?" I miss you George! I miss you."
Me:" Great." I finally butted in. "In our past conversations, I attacked George Bush on issues, his record. You attack the president as a community activist. We both know what that means. But George Bush's past was off limits. He got wealthy by tanking TWO oil companies that couldn't find oil in Texas! Sold 'em both for a profit! He drove the Texas Rangers into the ground then sold his share of the team for more money than the entire team was worth in order to finance his Governor bid. When governor he forced through an eminent domain rule that allowed the Rangers to build a new stadium on public land at taxpayer's expense. He left Texas a mess of pollution, corruption and poor education before his historically disconnected presidency. Yeah. I miss him.":sarcasm:
Me:"If you want to attack President Obama's past record, attack his Senate work, his state Senate work. Don't just call him a community activist."

He:"He's just a damn dirty Nigger!"
Me:"Yep. That's what it's all about."
He:"See!" turning to my mom. "I told you if I had put Obama's name on the turkey sign, everyone would say that it was racist."
Me:"No. you dropped the N-bomb. THAT's racist. You lose the debate. First one to Nazi, Hitler or the N-Bomb loses."
He:"but he hasn't..."
Me:"N-Bomb. You lose. It has nothing to do with the president and everything to do with his skin color. You cannot deal with a black man in charge."
Mom, dad, sister walk away. I look at him, shake my head and leave.

End scene.
