Michael Savage: we could learn a few things from Islam |
|
I was listening to Michael Savage for a few minutes this evening. Usually he's going off on some anti-Islam rant. This time, however, he was praising Islam. He was talking about how men in this country follow women around looking at their butts, comparing them to chimpanzees. Then he mentioned how in Islam, women wear burqas that cover their entire body, and how that it wasn't actually a bad idea. He said that he hoped that the US and Islam could learn from each other, and that Islamic values would get rid of all the "filth" from Hollywood.
I guess the fundies are starting to realize that they aren't quite so different from the "radical" Muslims after all. :sarcasm: :puke:

3. They hate Islamics for their control over everything |
|
Women and government. The fundies just wish they could have control of the government, and have women behave according to their precepts, the way they think the Islamics have.

6. Savage's twisted logic strikes again on the burqa comment |
|
Edited on Thu May-10-07 08:50 PM by Selatius
If women wore veils such as that, there would be no men gawking at women on the street who wear shorts and slim-fitting tops, and petty arguments that the woman asked to be raped would become outdated, but to achieve that change in society, one must either convince women to stop wearing those clothes or use force to make them stop wearing clothes of that kind.
Ultimately, such notions move against more libertarian strains of thought because the choice as to what one should wear ultimately belongs to each and every individual to decide for himself or herself.

7. You know what else would end that argument? |
|
If men were forced to wear side-blinders like carriage horses do so they don't get spooked or distracted. If the male-harassment problem really got that bad, maybe men should be confined to the home more and only allowed out with female relatives.
After all, THEY'RE the ones with the self-control problem.
Funny, no right-winger ever makes this Modest Proposal.
