Patroism
One guy stated that Southern people are the most patriotic people around. I think that statement is made in delusion. Those are the same people who support "American Exceptionalism" and look where that goes us.

1. Every Southern person I know is different from the next.
I know socialist southerners and dyed in the wool conservatives. I know southerners who are self-sufficient to the point of anarchism and others who go to church twice a week. The south is a diverse place.

5. patriotism.
Loyalty to a "father land."

The kinder, gentler version of nationalism.

I'll stick to matriotism, myself.

6. Certainly the most nationalistic people around
The terms are synonymous anyway, just with a sense of exceptionalism determining which you use for whom.
