Kucinich preparing to fight for more jobless benefits
(Cleveland) - About 98,000 jobless Ohioans who stand to lose their unemployment benefits by the end of June.

U.S. Congressman Dennis Kucinich of says people throughout his Cleveland district are upset that Republicans blocked passage a bill Thursday that included an extension of weekly unemployment benefits for millions of people out of work, saying it would add $30 billion to the deficit.

Kucinich accuses Republicans of playing political games, and contends it's the duty of the government to provide help when so many people have been hurt by the recession.

4. "Kucinich accuses Republicans of playing political games"
He got it right. Some people were trying to blame Democrats.

5. I appreciate Kucinich placing the blame squarely where it belongs: on Republicans
Good for him.

Some of his admirers on this board only offer up token condemnation of the Enemy Party and prefer to be in the Blame Obama First camp. Ironically that makes them objectively like Republican defenders.

9. Yeah!
And I bet they're in the "Blame America First!" camp too!
Wait. That wasn't one of our talking points, was it?

8. Does he have any influence in the Senate? That's where the bottleneck is.
Good for Dennis. Sometimes he reminds me of Paul Wellstone.
