They wanted Him, They got Him...
Rmember the 2000 (S)election? Remember the "Sore Loserman" and Al "Bore" signs? Rmember how they subverted every aspect of this supposed Democracy to get him in over Gore? Recall if you will, the justifications as written by the Supreme Court, by otherwise normally rational columnists, by many even on the so-called Left, as a reasonable outcome of a bad or difficult circumstance. That Gore had too much baggage from the Clinton Administration, that he was dull, that he was a wonk, that he was a liar, that he was too kissy with his wife(!), that he was an environmental kook, that he would lead us into higher gas prices and maybe even a "Democrat War".

Well, they got their wish. As loyal Dems and patriotic Americans, we pointed out that Bush was incompetent, inattentive, unschooled, arrogant, AWOL, and a multitude of other traits. Strangely, this did not happen when 41 trounced Dukakis, nor even when Reagan shoved Carter out of the way. This election was different in so many ways, but the most important aspect of it was that the questioning of the competence, both intellectual and emotional, of this man was ongoing, germane, and relentless.

So now all of us are living with the results. Although all of us are sufferring to some extent, to whatever degree that those who fought tooth and nail for him to ascend to the throne are in some form of misery, well then, they are richly deserving of every moment of excruciating pain. As they say in Bridge, Doubled and Redoubled.

3. I guess the only silver lining is that it's blatantly obvious now..
At least it should be obvious, because Bush's future performance was predicted by many people a year before he stole Florida. I knew he'd be terrible, but had no idea how terrible he'd turn out to be. I should have multiplied all my predictions by 100, a mistake I don't intend to make ever again.

4. Unfortunately, the most ardent supporters of "Sore Loserman" think he's just wonderful.
And regret nothing.

6. I thought you were talking about Jesus,
with the capital H and all... Instead, you were talking about a man (I use the word loosely) who THINKS he's Jesus...O8)
