The Democratic Party, the Party of Spelunkers?
Ever since Obama was sworn in members of congress have been caving-in to the opposition. Every bill is watered down with concessions to the corporate-owned republicans. They keep caving in so much it's like they are legislative spelunkers unable to come out from the cave-like world they are living in. But why do they keep caving-in when they know they are not going to get a single vote from republicans?

And where in the hell is the congressional leadership? Harry Reid seems so inept he is behind in his reelection bid against a psycho woman who has the most radical positions in the republican party. Reid seems totally unable to rebut her nonsense and hate-speech. If Reid can't even expose a radical lunatic then why should he be the leader of the senate? If he can't speak, act or produce like a leader, then why is he the senate majority leader? Maybe he needs to take a course in LBJ 101.

While democrats in congress keep caving-in over and over again our country is sliding deeper and deeper into trouble, as conservatives cheer every time they dupe them into caving. With the election of Barack Obama and huge majorities in both the house and senate we had a golden opportunity to undo much of the damage caused by the corrupt and inept republicans, but opportunity after opportunity is being squandered for the sake of a non-existent bipartisanship. Democrats in congress give the enemy everything, and we end up with a few crumbs of progressive legislation.

We're getting to the point where it will be too late for the democrats to do anything productive. Republicans never had the majorities democrats enjoy now, but they were able to cram through all kinds of damaging legislation. Hell, democrats even gave Bush the authorization to go to war against a non-existent enemy. How in the hell do people get to positions of power in our government if they are so weak, gutless and feebleminded?

When are democrats going to take a stand and just say "HELL NO!" to republicans? When are they going to start representing the people who put them in office? I'm getting damned tired of the constant caving to the republican party. And if democrats keep squandering opportunities they might end up as the minority in congress. If that happens it will be 'turn out the lights' time because any hope of progressive legislation getting passed would be completely over.

3. Thanks Villager...
I wish someone in the inner circle could make a case for progressives that was forceful and got our administration to represent the people, instead of giving in corporations and republicans.
