Libertarian vs Communitarian: Rush Limbaugh is leaving New York
State "because of high taxes". Someone commented that they had moved from Cleveland to Miami for the same reason. A little bit of googling brought forth the info that the Cleveland public library has about 22 items/person while the Miami -Dade Library has about 1.4 items per person (items being books, CDs, DVDs, tapes in circulation).

So, to what extent are high local taxes government waste, and to what extent do they reflect a willingness to invest in public education, recreation, health, etc? Assuming that the higher taxes reflect community investment, what extras do people in high tax states get?
