1. It is definitely not something
we are used to here. It really shook the house.

2. Yeah! First I thought it was a truck rumbling by, then I thought - "This is an earthquake....but...
no. That can't be. Can it?

Then people started calling into the tv news stations, which I was watching.

I'm in NW DC. Where are you?

3. I'm in Purcellville in Loudoun County.
I thought something had exploded nearby and kept expecting to hear sirens!

4. Wow ... shocking ...
I lived an California, and it would have to exceed 5.0 before I even felt it ...

Nevertheless .... This in DC is a rare event ...

5. It awakened many in the area. I was already awake, and it was quite a rumble.

It scared the bejeezus out of me here in the Potomac highlands. The rumble was quite intense.

9. slept through it
Probably would have thought it was just a bus driving by or something anyway.

Is it weird that I sort of wish I'd been awake to feel it?

15. We felt it pretty good in Silver Spring.
The wife and I were awake because the baby had coincidentally woken up around 4:45. So we felt it and wondered what the hell was going on.

It did not wake up our other daughter, though...but she sleeps like a log.

My boss lives right near the epicenter and he said that it woke his whole family and that it rattled windows and wall hangings, etc.
