Obama must make a recess appointment of Elizabeth Warren |
|
OK so I am jumping ahead considerably, but assuming that Obama does nominate Warren for the head of the new consumer protection agency (fingers crossed), you KNOW it's going to be a humongous Republican shitstorm. The confirmation hearings will be amazing to watch because Warren is probably smarter than all of the Senate Republicans combined, but in the end, I'd bet my left foot that the GOP will bow to its corporate master (and you know Ben Nelson and probably that idiot from Louisiana will too), and filibuster the crap out of her nomination. So my suggestion is that Obama make a recess appointment of her the moment the GOP places one of their infamous secret holds or indicates their usual obstinance. Let's not let what happened to Dawn Johnsen happen to Elizabeth Warren (like I said, should she be nominated). If John F-ing Bolton got to be U.N Ambassador as a result of a recess appointment, then surely all things are possible haha.

Obama is no friend to Elizabeth Warren, and her common sense is no friend to his budget policies. It took Congress to bring her as much into the process as she has been allowed.
Tim Geithner came out already, against appointing Warren.
In a just world she should have Geithner's job, and Geithner would have a job breaking rocks.
