Seven Bragg solders killed in Afghanistan
Fort Bragg, N.C. — Seven Fort Bragg-based soldiers were killed in Afghanistan in the span of less than 24 hours earlier this week, the Department of Defense announced Friday.

(snip)

"Their whole purpose was to make Afghanistan a safer place for our American troops and our Afghan partners, as well as every citizen of Afghanistan," said Col. Richard G. Kaiser, commander of the 20th Engineer Brigade to which four soldiers belonged.

"What more noble and selfless task could there be? They are true American heroes."

Goeke, Stout and Sheldon died Tuesday repelling an insurgent attack on a compound in Kandahar that houses the elite Afghan National Civil Order Police. A suicide attacker exploded a car bomb at the compound entrance, then insurgents opened fire with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. U.S. and international troops and Afghan police fought off the attack.

4. poor guys
dying for profiteers is beyond sad. I have two nephews in the Marines and the older is so exited to "Finally" be deployed after seven years. I have watched the process from boot camp to now in getting our children to be brainwashed killers for the MIC. It is sick.

How the hell do they get away with these LIES still? WTF? There is no discernible reason for American troops to be there, (except for natural resources)so how does that make their 'purpose' worth dying for. INSANITY.

9. The media helps....
the stories like this in the printed paper editions rarely if ever make the front page. more often than not it is in the 'Military' section.....and the average person with no personal vested interest....tends to ignore this section of the paper. Our local news rarely mentions it either.
