Five Tulsa police officers indicted in corruption probe
Indictments against five current and former Tulsa police officers — including one who faces 58 counts of perjury, conspiracy to distribute drugs, witness tampering and other crimes — were unsealed Tuesday in a federal police corruption probe.

The five men appeared shackled in handcuffs Tuesday afternoon at a hearing in Tulsa’s U.S. District Court.

U.S. Attorney Jane W. Duke, a special prosecutor from eastern Arkansas, is leading the grand jury, which is investigating reports of falsified search warrants, nonexistent informants and stolen drugs and money by law enforcement officers in Tulsa. Thus far, the names of eight Tulsa police officers and one former federal agent have surfaced in the federal probe.

Duke said the grand jury investigation, which began about two years ago, is ongoing and that “more indictments may be possible.”

1. Well well....
... it looks like at least one city is willing to do what it takes to clean the corruption from their police force. And despite what the defense lawyer says, it looks like they have some open and shut case evidence, and not from coached witnesses.

These guys should see some long prison time. Putting people in jail with manufactured evidence is not a trivial crime.

3. I doubt the city had anything to do with this
an would bet that the Federal Probe was initiated at the Federal level...even to the point of initial opposition at the city and maybe even the state level. I would be interested to know but don't have time to look it up now.
