how does democracy survive when media sources are free to lie and present false information as news?

Without the national corporate media backing them, the GOP would have been obsolete a long time ago.
Even when beaten silly in the last national elections and relegated to minority status, the GOP is given front and center news coverage on a daily basis for free.

We've tried the information campaign and that hasn't worked. People ask that it not be used as the background news channel in hotels and restaurants.
I guess it's like the repupuklian party itself, no matter how stupid and obviously wrong it appears, some will still back it.

It was on in the tire shop waiting room the other day. They claimed that Fox was the ONLY channel they had, but turned it off for me. If enough of us complain loud enough and long enough...
