What is it about the right wing media machine
That causes our party and our media reps to cower and quake?

Where is the adherence to values and principles? Where is the loyalty to the cause? Where is the indignation of false accusations? Where is the killer spirit?

Will we ever regain our moxy?

1. CorporOmedia (R) serves the CorporoBorg
Edited on Wed Jul-21-10 11:46 AM by SpiralHawk
not the people, not the truth, not justice, not honor. Just the CorporoBorg. Materialism uber alles. Ahriman rules. For a little time.

What's good for the CorpoBorg (R) is good for the CorporoBorg (R).

End of discussion.

2. Media is a double edged sword serving one pupose
The inevitable purpose of the media is about advancing the interests (and of course that always is $$$ and power) of the elite, the corporatists, the bankers, and the oligarchs.

Previous to the consolidation of the print and electronic media, there were those who actually worked to uncover and present the truth to the public without spin. Most of what is left of that philosophy have gone to the blogosphere. But even that is becoming tainted.

3. This is such a good question-- all such spot on points and
it is THE question. I'd love to see Rachel or Keith tackle it. I don't know how to say this well, but in featuring and completely focusing on every stupid thing that falls from the lips of the rw like it's important, there isn't any time to devote to the real problem (not to mention Obama's many significant accomplishments), which is what you have outlined. The White House has at its disposal the best minds in the world and they ought to put them to work figuring this out and soon-- either that, or read DU.

4. The echo chamber
Maybe you've noticed how their lies are believed more than the truth. We can scream out the truth until we are blue in the face and the lie will still win out in polls.

Look at the % that still believe there were WMD's in Iraq or that Obama's not an American. On and on they seem to get people believing lies and not believing the truth.
