Wonder if the Whitehouse aides are watching the news & are actually surprised
that no one is covering the semi-historic legislation that Obama just signed into law.

How stupid and incompetent that they let the story about Shirley Sherrod go thru another news cycle.

I remember when we used to say that the Bush administration lived in a bubble - I'm beginning to think when Bush co. moved out, the Obama admin moved in.

Her and her hubby spent their whole live fighting for civil rights..... the way she was treated is unforgivable!

2. When the news is talking nonstop about why this administration didn't investigate the entire story
before demanding her resignation - you tell me....

6. Well I am actually watching the signing for the 4th time on GEM$NBC
since it happened. Additionally accusing the WH for the firing with no evidence is exactly what happened to Sherrod- maybe should attack Vilsack and Cheryl Cook.

12. Exactly right...
There are some very important things going on right now. Since the bill has been signed which protects ALL of us, and the president has since asked for a full investigation, I think he has his priorities straight.

11. What we know and what we don't know...
We know that the media, regardless of outlet, cannot be fully trusted.

We know that the president has a lot on his plate, and dealing with squabbling bullshitters (media) only gives them "importance" they've yet to earn.

We know that the president has been focused on the current financial legislation that the aforementioned media (and DU) is ignoring.

Excuse the hell out of me, but he has a lot of issues that take priority. He's asked for a review of the situation. Can we keep our collective pants on?

I'm truly sick of this bullshit.

13. They have so many to carry their water...
"We" have helped them successfully keep the collective eye of America off the very important regulatory legislation that was signed this morning.

How good of us to oblige.

7. Why am I not surprised that people here think the silence coming out of the WH is acceptable?

8. Because no one died, Ms. Sherrod is speaking up about racism and may not want her job back,

and I doubt that the Obama administration controls our news media,
and evidently, the news media knows this, which is why they talk about
whatever they want to talk about.....not what the President wants to talk about.

I believe that the administration made a mistake.
I believe that the RW lie machine committed fraud.
I believe that it shows that one is not perfect,
and that one will lie and distort and whatever else is
required to manipulate public opinion.
One is not the same as the other, or even remotely close.

14. You expect the president to ignore the very important legislation in front of him?
Something that benefits ALL Americans, in order to untangle this ridiculous web of deceit?

What surprises me is the callous, unthinking, ridiculous, knee-jerk, uncalled for, and heinous action of carrying water for the RW spin machine that goes on in our hallowed DU halls.

Priorities are important, as is the ability NOT to be distracted from things that are more important for a larger number of people than other things.

Grown-up Responsibility 101...

9. AND the republicans again holding up unemployment benefits
got knocked off the news. I think that these so called releases by Fox are manufactured to do just that. Whenever there is good news from the Obama administration or the republicans raise their ugly heads Fox starts something to knock it off the news.

15. They only have 30 hours
and it looks like they realize they'll have to be in the Senate at 9.00pm so they're having a rethink. Fucking idiots!!
