I would like to thank CBS News for finally coming clean on their right wing world view |
|
Thanks Bob Sheaffer.
Thanks CBS.
Thanks for the most unbalanced panel discussion I've seen in a long time.
"Black panthers"
"Can't criticize Obama"
Three bushies and one black guy on your panel.
feh
Fuck you.

1. This NEW Black Panthers story is such a goofy one. Eugene |
|
Robinson(whom I respect) has pointed out that at the best he can only find 2 perhaps 3 guys who call themselves members of the New Black Panthers. He then laughingly tells us the Original Black Panthers are continuously reminding the Media these New Black Panthers are not in anyway connected to the real Black Panthers.
Rachel Maddow notes that she has been able to find two guys and one carrying a "sandwich sign" who are New Black Panthers.
Once again the MSM is giving all this credence to 3 guys from Pennsylvania whose crediblity is in question???
Of course, Fox is always trying to find "Reverse Racism" and are not above building questionable people up in order to get their desired result.
This does not explain the MSM.

2. The media is goofy. And if you hear on Fox, you WILL hear it everywhere. |
|
That's how it works. Fox: We Lead, They Follow.

9. What the media do if 3 people wore KKK sheets to every tea bagger event? |
|
It would be interesting to see how the media would react if three people showed up at every tea party and every republican town hall wearing KKK sheets and hoods. I doubt if any conservative would protest their presence. For all I know the two 'black panthers' were hired by a republican smear merchant. Has anyone looked into the backgrounds of those two guys? Or checked their bank accounts to see if they just received a lot of anonymous money?
What CBS did was exactly what faux does all the time. The US MSM is total garbage. It's sad that to get good news a person has to look oversees to sources like the BBC.

I stopped watching tv news a few years ago |
|
it's bullshit. there is nothing worthwhile, to me, in talking head shows that are there for the express purpose of defending the indefensible.
I watch Democracy Now! on tv or listen to it on the radio. I listen to NPR and am surprised at the level of right wing crap I hear there.
I listen to Counterspin.
I read The Nation, The New York Review of Books, Vanity Fair's investigative articles, the NYT, read blogs like TPM - read links from DU - and from those occasionally see something from tv.
I don't know why anyone wastes his or her time listening to the propaganda on mainstream tv, honestly.
If I didn't want to watch Mad Men, I would've disconnected my cable long ago.

6. They want scared white folks, the kind Michael Moore talked about |
|
in bowling for columbine...it is easier to lie to scared people then when they are grounded and paying attention. The entire M$M is working against The People, anything to avoid talking about actual issues that can and do affect you and I. BP? Iraq? The criminal Bush Administration? Naw, we need to talk about a group that doesn't really exist or pose any kind of threat to America. :eyes:
I have mainstream media...thank God for the Internets!!!

At some point, he stopped asking tough questions and following up on lame answers.

10. I just watched this because of this post |
|
and I was happily surprised to see both Eric Michael Dyson and Cornell West on the panel. I wish they had had someone like Trisha Rose, Melissa Harris-Lacewell, or my old mentor Valerie Smith, but they didn't. And they had Abigail Thernstrom, who thinks the NBPP thing is a big distraction.....
So noted pig John Fund was there, and someone else who wanted to pretend we had gotten to some post-racial utopia, but I thought that overall the panel made a good case for why
1. We are unable to have a sufficiently adult conversation about race right now 2. The NBPP story is unimportant 3. The Obama administration is unnecessarily skittish about racial politics.
