Lookit. Best wine I have ever tasted! |
|
Volcano blend. Oregon wine. They have a shop in downtown Bend (126 NW Minnesota). They sell it by the glass for $5. FIVE BUCKS!. It is far better than Helix ($9/glass at 900 Wall) or Isenhower ($11/glass at 900 Wall). http://www.volcanovineyards.com/volcano/index.jsp

1. Hmm. I'm sipping whiskey tonight, DemoTex, but suddenly a hankering for a glass of red... |
|
...has struck.
Though I think will have to wait... ;-)

2. Good to hear from you, DT |
|
And I'm happy to hear you're enjoying your well-deserved break--I hope Nick is, too.
But I'm afraid you may get moved to the lounge...just sayin'. If so, I'll join you there. :)

4. I know - but it is indeed "general discussion." |
|
I avoid the lounge. If a post gets moved there, it it was it is.

8. Hey, if the Lounge is good enough for CA Peg, it's good enough for me |
|
I don't look down on it--it's just another DU forum, one that is often clever, witty and hilarious. And I suspect they know their beverages, if you know what I mean... :)

7. When I was there, the Widmere Hef was great |
|
Craft beer afficionados may scoff, but the Hef, with a twist of lemon or lime, was terrific--especially when poured from a cold tap.
BTW, I hope you have access to good beer in B.C. Whenever I visited friends there, the rule was that I had to pick up some tobacco and a flat of beer at the duty-free shop when I crossed the border. :)

6. I didn't realize they produced shiraz out near bend! |

Oregon boutique wineries make world class pinot on the west side of the Cascades, but didn't realize bend had anything other than outstanding ales.
