|
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2010-07-28-arpaio-immigration-enforcement_N.htmWASHINGTON (AP) — The sheriff of the most populous county in Arizona says he's "not going to put up with any civil disobedience" when the state's new immigration law takes effect. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says that if protesters want to block his jail, he'll put them in it. <not much more>

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x4482048My first thought was to send thousands of protestors--more than Jailer Joe could put away at any one moment.

Send every activist to Phoenix, whether they are for or against the Bracero indentured-servitude plan, they should be against this asshole.

20. I hope people realize "fill up the jails" is a tactic used by MLK. Not support for Arpaio. |

He does. He has a twitter account and brags about his harsh treatment of citizens.

Just a simple public servant, Mr. Arpaio.
In what I am sure is just a coincidence, Daily Kos is quoting a report out of Arizona that shows that two of Gov. Brewer's top aides have very close ties with CCA, the largest for-profit jail company in the country. All these folks that Arizona is going to need to incarcerate pending the sorting out of their residency status are going to have to stay somewhere. Wouldn't it be just the height of irony if CCA got the contract? I mean, what are the odds that CCA would have connections in the governor's office just as new legislation is going into effect that might mean a spike in incarceration rates? This could be a lucky break for CCA!

12. Tomorrow will be his Waterloo |
|
He'll go too far for most of the people - the extremists will still lick his boots. I really think this is it for him, whether it's the "round up" or intimidation of protestors or treatment of detainees. Tempers will be hot.
It's time for Joe to go.

19. Then you have a nice day. |

Yes, I openly and eagerly call pigs pigs because they are pigs.
When they stop covering for each other, stop abusing their power, apologize for the pain and agony they've caused, I'll change my tune. Until then, they are pigs, pure and simple.
As far as your THC comment, that just shows your pure and bigoted ignorance.
You enjoy your stay.
