Bill Bennett: I get racially profiled and I don't mind it

a caller with some kind of accent called and said it wasn't fair that he and his son have to carry their birth certificates around in AZ, while his wife, who is completely white, doesn't.

Bennett countered with some editorial written right after 9/11 by a Muslim college student who said he was ok with being racially profiled, how he understood why it was necessary.

Then Bennett shared how he himself gets racially profiled because he's Irish and therefore might be with the IRA, and how he understands how it is necessary. He wasn't joking.

And really how does one "look Irish"? I've got a gazillion Irish relatives and they don't "look" anything more than white. Some have dark hair, some have light hair, some are bald. None have been mistaken for IRA.
