Harrassing Phone Call
I keep getting a phone call from 1-800-260-9125. After doing a little bit of research, I discovered that it the phone number of a company called TCG Toll Free- a telemarketing firm. The thing that caught my interest the most is that they seem to do a lot of political calling. But the odd thing is, every name that popped up was a Democrat. No Republicans that I saw. Could this be a new ploy the GOP is pulling, similar to that of a RoboCall, or am I just thinking way too much into this? We get these calls several times a day.

2. I was thinking that
But then I realized they are just shooting themselves in the foot if their calls border harassment. I don't know, maybe in my time off from work I think of things that aren't happening.

3. Adding your number to the Do Not Call list will get rid of them as telemarketers
unless they can establish that you have a business relationship with their client.

Can't do much about political polling.

8. File a complaint with the FTC
If the company is identifiable they can be fined.

5. not true. i've been on the
"do not call list" since it started. every few years i look to make sure i'm still on it. i get calls from carpet cleaning companies, food delivery, air conditioner maintenance, etc. i've reported many of them. nothing changes.

7. Local robocalls are harder to knock out

but national telemarketing firms? Absolutely worth reporting it. I get about two calls a month, usually from a carpet cleaning company or "Heather from account services." Before the law was changed to make registration permanent two years ago, my prior registration lapsed and I was getting 3 to 5 calls a day.
After I re-registered the calls dwindled within a few weeks.

DNC can't get rid of all calls -- they never claimed it would.

10. i've noticed that with some of the robo calls
they give you an option to stop them, by hitting a certain button. if they don't i try to call them back and tell them to take me off their list.

you have to be careful with the ones that call and say there calling on behalf of one of your charities. these people are telemarketers and they'll get a cut of what you give to the charity.

11. Rigggghhhht! They are working, but shouldn't get paid.
These people are using their time, their talents, but they shouldn't get a "cut?" Huh?

People, even telemarketers for charity, need to make a living, you know?

9. We've not had such a call since about November. I made a couple of
complaints via the DNC website form, and haven't been bothered since.

6. How We Ended Up With Alvin Greene...
...the dude who will be the Democratic Senate candidate from South Carolina. There's a big scam going on that hits both parties...these boiler rooms go out supposedly raising donations for a candidate; raising millions off the phones and then charging the candidate huge sums for their services. They're raise $1 million for a candidate and he/she will be lucky to get 50gs. Sounds like you're on their lists. I'd get on the Do Not Call registry.
