Anyone else see a silver lining to the GOP voter fraud scandal that is unfolding? |
|
Heading into the 2006 elections, the GOP controlled the Administration, the Congress, the courts, governorships in Ohio, Florida, New York, California, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Indiana (where we picked up three House seats) -- and we still won.
We took their best shot and beat them. Now we have the power to ensure that they can't ever pull a stunt like that again and to make sure that 2008 is as fair as possible.
And yes, I fully recognize that our majorities would likely be larger had they not engaged in a massive and illegal campaign, but the fact is we survived and now have the ability to bring these people to justice. It's scary as hell, but also strangely satisfying.

1. The scandal is GOP election fraud not voter fraud. |
|
That said, we can't afford to trust the GOP or Diebold et al.
I fear they will try to steal the 2008 election or simply just cancel the election all together.
:scared:
Hopefully, I am wrong. I still will never trust a Republican.

2. But the question is: Will the Democrats ensure the GOP can never |
|
pull a stunt like election fraud again?
They won't even acknowledge that impeachment is on the table. How can we be secure in knowing that the Dems are going to do the right thing? I'm glad the investigations are underway, but is that enough at this point?
