patently false.....just repeated on the chuck todd show...

mr bu$h* got these tax cuts enacted by giving them an expiration date....

THEY WERE TEMPORARY - i guess this is way to complicated for the media to truly understand.

1. I have discovered that letting tax cuts for the wealthy expire is not a real popular subject here
Wonder why that is?

11. How many recommendations did this thread get?
Edited on Fri Jul-30-10 06:46 PM by NNN0LHI
Two and one of those rec's was mine. While any thread criticizing President Obama or Dems get an instantaneous 100 recommendations.

Really difficult to notice that?

You remind me of the guy who declared, "I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!"

Obviously the posters left on this board are more interested in taking down Dems than ending the tax cuts for the wealthy. You can be sure many of the posters here are wealthy.

4. I have yet to see it
The Bush tax cuts are reviled by everyone I've seen so far. There's no benefit to keeping them, and no real political danger in letting them go away. This is common ground as common as we have.

The press wants to say we're "repealing" them? Fine. Let's cop to "repeal", and then institute a tax increase. Back to Eisenhower-era levels.

5. You know what..
... they are doing us a favor.

Even as stupid as most Americans are, only the droolingest of morons think that the rich are overtaxed.

9. When The Tax Cuts For The Rich Expire And Not Renewed.......
as a fall back position after blaming the Dems for raising taxes the Repugs should say that Bush had the foresight to build in an expiration date for these tax cuts. They should say he built it in the expiration date just in case the economy suffered. Then they could take the credit for the economy rebounding when let to expire.

This way they can have it both ways - 1. Blame the Dems for raising taxes and 2. take credit for the economy rebounding because Bush was prescient.

I scaring myself - I'm beginning to think like them.... Oh noes!!!!!!!

10. The "tax increase" was passed by the Republicans.
When they passed the reconciliation bill in 2001, they knew taxes would go up in 2011. They passed the law to increase taxes. Now they want to blame the Democrats. It's not so complicated that people cannot understand. The media is spreading this lie by the Republicans. They want the Democrats to save the Republicans from their decision to raise taxes?
