So here is a question: will Wikileaks have imitators? |
|
The US Government is already as much as admitting that there is little they can do about it. The barriers to entry are low. These sorts of sites could evolve into a whole new unfiltered news source.

1. Wikileaks has a rather large volunteer "legal team" |
|
-Is based on Sweden to take advantage of their relatively extreme amount of protection for such sites -Runs submissions through numerous proxies, all at the advice of an army of tech people giving them advice
The barrier to entry is low, the barrier to not getting thrown in jail is quite high.

2. So you think not? Thanks for the opinion. |

I figured they were using TOR and anonymous proxies and anonymous web services and encryption and the like. It is pretty technical, staying out of trouble.

3. It's a successful wiki, there will be imitators who try |
|
That's one of the laws of the internet. However, there is quite a substantial team behind wikileaks that the common work from home guy cannot duplicate.
