My daughter is a stay at home mother of three and is starting an online course in graphics design with the Art Institute. She has already helped her husband graduate on the Dean's List with an Associates Degree in Business, also from an online school.

My daughter is a member of DU but rarely posts so she doesn't have enough to put up her own OP, her screen name is AJH.

Hello all, I’ve recently enrolled in the Art Institute's online program to study graphic art. I’ve entered a scholarship competition, and must make the top 10% to continue on to the next round of judging. All I’m asking is for you to click on the link I’m providing below, and vote for my entry, should you feel that your vote is justified. If you feel you can pass on my link to others I would be extremely grateful.

I don’t ask for help often, and it’s almost difficult to type this out – BUT – I want this scholarship (free money is always good :-D), so I’m doing what it takes to get myself there.

65. I understand your thoughts on this...

While I do understand your point, I do not want anyone to think that this was posted here in hopes that *everyone* would vote for me. I was only hoping a few people would feel compelled to vote for my entry, and possibly help me achieve the top 10%, so I would move on to the next round of judging. I never expected the outcome my entry received from you all, and appreciate it more than anyone could possibly appreciate a gesture such as this.

Also, the guidelines set in place for the voting specified that once we (the scholarship applicants) received the link to our entry, we should email it out to all of our friends, family, colleagues, etc - to achieve the highest amount of votes possible. The idea that one should sift through over one thousand entries to vote for just one entry is a little absurd, in my opinion. I am not trying to sound ungrateful, nor am I trying to step on your toes - just stating the obvious.

I don't want anyone to vote for my entry unless they *really* like my entry and *want* to vote for me. Anyhow, with that said - I want to thank EVERYONE who participated in helping me to achieve the next round of judging with a deep, heartfelt thank you. Words can't express how I feel from the generosity I have received.

Thank you all again, and I will keep you posted with my progress. :)
