Poll question: In an actual shooting war between Colombia and Venezuela, whish country would you back? |
|
Say why, if you'd be so kind.

We take sides in far too many squabbles around the world when sometimes neutrality is a perfectly honorable option.

Playing "teams" in warfare doesn't work out too well. There's a morally right angle and a morally wrong angle, and this is unaffected by who's playing.

6. Are we talking wager or moral backing? |
|
Because Colombia has the finest US made weapons and a real coked out military. March march march shoot shoot shoot. Tony Montana at the helm. I put my money on the Colombians.

13. I wasn't talking about wagering. |
|
In those terms, you'd have to go with Colombia(unless you were going for Venezuela to beat the spread).

8. I hope we'd be on the side of whoever was trying to stop the fighting |
|
this isn't the World Cup.
Historical note: South American wars have a way of getting very, very ugly. In the 1864-1870 so-called War of the Triple Alliance, Paraguay lost, by some estimates, 90% of its population. That's not a typo-90%.

12. I'm not HOPING for such a war. |
|
Just trying to figure out where people's sympathies would be.
I do find in a bit unnerving that so many people would be pro-Colombia, although none have been willing so far to make a case for their position.

9. Gee - either a reich-wing murderous regime or a put-upon experiment approaching socialism that |
|
does put the welfare of its people first. That is a tough call - not. There is a good guy and a bad guy in this pairing.
