bush: Invading Iran? "Nobody's talkin' about that".
ABC news:

President Bush believes he might have been misunderstood when he started speaking about the need to go after Iran for its involvement in aiding the insurgency in
As he traveled to Illinois today to share good news on the economy, he said the subject has been overshadowed by the war in Iraq, and he clarified his stance on Iran, which he does not plan to invade.

"Nobody's talking about that," he told ABC News' Betsy Stark. "To say that defending ourselves in Iraq … has some greater goal is just simply not the case."

For Betsy Stark's full interview, watch "World News With Charles Gibson" tonight.

Rather, Bush is going after those who may try to harm U.S. troops. "We'll deal with it by finding their supply chains and their agents and … arresting them, getting them out of harm's way. In other words, we're going to protect our troops," Bush said. "It's not tough talk to say that the commander in chief expects our troops to be protected."

------------------

Uh, dubya, EVERYBODY is talkin' about that, where were you when everyone else was discussing it? This is EXACTLY what he said about invading Iraq.

5. Well, if it wasn't right in Iraq, how do you know it's right in Iran,
Bush: Iran not a target of U.S.
Toronto Sun | January 30, 2007

WASHINGTON -- President George W. Bush said yesterday the U.S. "will respond firmly" if Iran escalates military action in Iraq and endangers American forces. However, Bush emphasized he has no intention of invading Iran.

Bush also acknowledged skepticism concerning U.S. intelligence about Iran, because Washington was wrong in accusing Iraq of harbouring weapons of mass destruction.

"I'm like a lot of Americans that say, 'Well, if it wasn't right in Iraq, how do you know it's right in Iran,"' he said.

7. His wording is curious
"To say that defending ourselves in Iraq … has some greater goal is just simply not the case."

The question isn't quoted, I wonder what Betsy said to get that response or if it's another of Bush**'s telling Freudian slips. Guess we'll find out tonight.

10. Just like he hadn't made up his mind about the Iraq invasion?
:eyes: As we all know, Bush had not only already made up his mind but had already deployed covert teams into Iraq to select targets and gain as much intel as possible before he gave the order to invade.

Is there a single reason to believe anything Bush says? None. He's been proved a liar many times over and shouldn't be trusted on anything.

13. Of course nobody's talking about it. The decision was made long ago
In fact, the decision to invade Iran was made shortly after you took office. First Afghanistan, then Iraq, then Iran.

15. Everytime I hear him say he is the commander in chief...
I shudder. The only reason we are defending ourselves in Iraq is because of him, period. He would call an invasion of Iran protecting our troops, that would be his new slogan.
