Hundreds are attending a AFL-CIO annual meeting in Hartford on Monday, and political candidates will be lobbying for support from more than 400 delegates and guests.

Howard Dean, former presidential candidate and Vermont governor gave the keynote address and started things off with a shot at Sen. Joe Lieberman.

"Remember who sold you out on health care," Dean said, according to the Mirror. "We're not going to forget in 2012."

(snip)
The former Democratic national chairman blamed Lieberman for blocked a provision in the bill that would have allowed people younger than 65 to buy into Medicare, the CT Mirror reports.

2. If memory serves me correctly,
didn't the AFL end up supporting the health insurance bill? If so, its leadership didn't do it any favors, either.

11. Uhm...
Well since the benefits to younger people buying into medicare were removed (thanks to Lieberman) and existing private plans for union members were being taxed, and we would be fined for not having insurance, and there would be no public option, how can we blame them for having misgivings.

After all, this bill became the kind of bill that phoney conservadems would love.

8. Lieberman may not run in 2012. His last approval rating was around 35% here in CT.

10. He'll run as long as he can get his name on a ballot
I wish CT would field a candidate that could beat him.

I love Dr. Dean and I am glad he mentioned Joe L.
I am of the opinion that Lieberman did exactly what the Obama people wanted him to do. He played the role of spoiler.

16. Right now, Lieberman's muttering in a pouty, simpering tone:
"I don't like him" (Howard Dean)

Hey maybe we'll get to see John Stewart do his Lieberman impression tonight on TDS!

15. DEAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is important to our efforts to get rid of Joe Liberman no matter what party he decides to run under:

Joe for CT Party.
Joe with Mojo for a Free CT Party.
Joe and CT Turning over a New Leaf Party.

It is the same old Joe, so don't be fooled, CT.
