Just got some Dem congressman from DCCC to NOT promise not to cut Social Security on the "Deficit Commission" vote.
That was a direct hit on the current hypocrisy.

He's not that bad. He really turned Chris Van Hollen into a weasel, pushing him to strongly deny that the Democrats would oppose cutting Social Security if the commission comes out advocating that; Van Hollen weaseled in his answer, refused to answer, "no, they would not allow cutting Social Sec." if it was part of a larger plan. I like Cenk; he matches Ed's energetic personality.

He is new @ it he'll watch himself and adjust. He'll do great. MSNBC is really building a great new talent pool. They will blow fUx and CNN out of the water in a few years. Fux and CNN is relying on old washed up talent that will not grow new audiences.

If you ask the person a question let him answer it.
If the person goes off on a tangent cut him/her off.
If the person starts giving an answer you don't like it doesn't mean you don't allow them to finish the first sentence.
Remember the Stewart Cross Fire interview, both of those assholes were the problem, not just Bow tie Douche.

I couldnt disagree more. He has only hosted a few times and hes easily the best thing on the network. I love seeing the right wing guys he has on slowly begin to realize that they are actually going to be pressed on their bullshit answers. Maddow is pretty good at doing this but she tends to not be very aggressive and let them get away with quite a bit.
Also whether you like him or not he gets huge ratings when hes on and there is no way MSNBC doesnt notice that.

42. I've seen the internal MSNBC ratings. |
|
It's public knowledge that Cenk is my boss and that I'm the Director of New Media for TYT. I'll give you a half satisfying but completely honest answer:
1)-I've seen the internal ratings and yes, they were very good. Unfortunately the pre-primetime ratings aren't published to the public (someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that, and if so, I'd love to see a public post to refer people to). Now before the haters jump all over this, consider my next point...
2-This all started when Cenk filled in for Ratigan for 2 days (well, Ratigan guest hosted TYT here in LA once, but I don't count that). He CRUSHED, beating CNN's Rick Sanchez by almost 40%. Now if that was NOT the case, why would they have given him a full week to host MSNBC Live a couple of weeks ago? And there again, if he did NOT do well in the ratings on MSNBC Live, why would he be hosting The Ed Show all this week?
So yes, it's unsatisfying that the daytime ratings aren't public knowledge, but the common sense expressed in point #2 tells you all you need to know. But we'll see what happens this week, Ed has been doing very well lately.

|
but Cenk has said after guest hosting Ratigan and the 12:00 show that the ratings were really good and that the execs were pretty impressed. Obviously I dont have proof, and go ahead and call me too trusting but I believe the guy. Also considering the fact that MSNBC has given him two permanent spots on the Ratigan show and the 12:00 hour and are allowing him to guest host on what seems like a weekly basis, I am inclined to believe him even more.
