Elisabeth Hasselbeck: “I Actually Support Gay Marriage.”
http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/elisabeth-hasselbeck-i-actually-support-gay-marriage/celebrities/2010/08/17/12233

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, cohost of ABC’s The View, speaks out in favor of gay marriage and against what she feels are the misconceptions people have of her based on her personality. Besides being the youngest member of The View‘s panel, an interview with Fancast shows Hasselbeck’s support of gay marriage, and also a woman’s right to choose.

13. w/out a doubt she or her people know that being against gay marriage ....
.... is a non winning position to take and she wants to get out in front of it.

Besides I agree w/ the poster on this thread who said "who gives a shit what
that twit says?"

4. She once compared it to marrying a toaster
that doesn't sound much like support to me.

6. That depends on how toasty one wants one's sex life to be.
;-)

Although thinking too hard on the comparison can be disturbing.

8. Leave her sex life out of this. Who she has an epiphany with is her OWN business.
Oh, wait.

I just googled "Epiphany."

Never mind.

(Yes, I was kidding)

Needs a new set of friends and could start by not hanging out with Sean Hannity.

11. I think one of the concerns she had was churches being forced to perform the ceremonies
She thought that if a church refused to marry a same-sex couple that somehow they would be punished.

I'm really not sure of what the status is with that and would be interested to hear more.

A church is not required to marry any couple that walks into their chapel and says "Please marry me". Some churches require that you be members of their congregation or profess in certain beliefs.

20. churches can refuse to marry anyone they want. they tend to not marry you unless you are a member
as far as i know. i am not a member and was married by a justice of the peace. but i believe there is currently no requirement for a church to perform any marriage ceremony and don't know why that would change if gays were allowed to marry.

There are plenty of other reasons to criticize her, but not this.

23. She was very critical
Edited on Tue Aug-17-10 05:18 PM by JonLP24
of someone well known on the right that said something about gay people. I can't remember what was said but it was something like he/she wouldn't let children around a gay person or something like that. I forget who the panel was talking about or what that person said. I'm thinking really hard to think what it was. My point is this wouldn't surprise me at all if she was in favor of marriage equality.

On edit-It was Joe "the plumber" she was critical of who said he wouldn't let gay people around his children.

I can give her a te,mporary pass on this one, I guess...subject to later review.

She has opined on too many vile things for anyone to take her word as gospel.

I don't buy any of this. I'm thinking the pressure to fire Hasselbeck has taken on a whole new fervor since her comments a couple of weeks back.

30. I always miss the good shit
what did she do THIS TIME?

That said, she might, just might, be evolving as a human being... NAH! what am I thinking?

That said she is actually pretty good on gluten free diets... I actually got her book on it, since... that's all I could find at the time. She's lived with that challenge for oh since she remembers as a kid.

27. She's another example of failing up. To think that there are
thousands of people out there who know more, care more, and are more intriguing to watch on TV, and yet. There she is. I can only guess that her absolute insipidness is some kind of allure.

not in an interview that doesn't reach the amount of audience the show your on does. For the record, I don't watch the show.
