I am just getting around to reading Al Franken's "Truth...with Jokes". I am blown away

by all the Truth that Franken is putting in it. DeLay and Abramoff, Ralph Reed, etc. What a crop of vultures. If the media did the job that Franken does there wouldn't be a Republican party. Things would be much better. Have you read this book? What did you think?

I guess Al won't be writing any books for awhile but I am glad he is a Senator. I wish we had 99 just like him.

4. I am not much familiar with him. But some time ago I heard his

Harvard grad speech, I think it was, on CSpan or somewhere. And he is a genius. But I wonder if everybody understands some of the things he says.
And I think he is a comedy genius, too.

5. He is incredibly smart. I think you are right, though, many will miss the incredible

nuance of some of his writing. If you can catch sarcasm, irony....the entire satirical toolkit, you will enjoy every sentence. Fantastic stuff.

8. That's it. You have to be able to use your general knowledge, and

imagination to figure it out. Unfortunately, there are many people who don't understand all that, even if you draw a roadmap thru' it for them.

7. Yes, I think it is a great book.... Franken is careful to clearly...

use facts and he sources those facts. There is not excuse for the pathetic job our corporate media does in telling us what we should know about some of these issues. Fortunately, there are people like Al Franken who write books to pick up the slack that the corporate media leaves hanging.

9. Yes, and there is a description of how Bush wanted to "fix" Social Security

in this book. It is a very pertinent read for what might be going on very soon. Statements like, "Social Security is broken" are not true. We need to familiarize ourselves with what Franken says in this book and shout it to whoever wants to destroy SS....Dem or Rep!
