We scripted better events in high school, for crying out loud. This reminds me of a fifth-grader's idea of a school assembly, if he or she had to produce one all by him/herself. It would be sad if it weren't so weirdly dangerous and really peculiar.

Quoting first lines from major documents, cliched music, lifting Emma Lazarus' lines from the Statue of Liberty, for crying out loud. I'm reminded of the MAD Magazine takeoff on the poem:

Give us your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
The wretched refuse from your teeming shore...
And we'll send 'em right back, we'll send 'em right back to you.
Your huddled masses, your wretched refuse!

I'm sure these party goers are most welcoming of furriners...
