Michael Moore wants to investigate Treasury Dept
Maverick filmmaker Michael Moore took the first step on Wednesday in launching his own probe into the U.S. government's investigation of him for making an unauthorized trip to Cuba to film scenes for his latest movie "SiCKO."

Moore's attorney David Boies sent the U.S. Treasury Department a Freedom of Information Act request for all documents in its possession regarding its civil investigation of Moore which was launched by the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control told Moore earlier this month that it was conducting a civil investigation to see if he violated the U.S. trade embargo restricting travel to Cuba. The office said Moore did not apply for the license required for Americans visiting Cuba.

Moore took a group of 9/11 survivors to Cuba to see if their ailments could be helped under the Cuba medical system.

1. Wouldn't it be nice if our Democratic representatives
were as brave as Michael Moore?

2. I just wish that at least
they wouldn't run away from him and snicker at him just because they are afraid that the right will make fun of them too. The right painted Michael as a looney so they act like he really must be one then.

4. Yeah, he did a fine job putting Al Gore in the White House
Maybe he should hire Bob Shrum to run his political shop.

6. I think the deck was stacked against Boies and crew in 2000 ...
... Perry Mason himself could not have 'won' that 'case'.

5. I like the idea. Moore could reveal (at last) how the Treasury stopped publishing
the M3 since March of 2006, thus hiding exactly how much currency is in circulation, proving that the Fed is printing money without value, creating inflation.

7. If Moore Wins An Emmy, He Needs To Share It...
...with the booosh regime. They've done a lot to help him get a lot of attention and made his films more successful.

Be assured this regime thought it could make some political points by beating on a favorite wingnut cartoon character, Michael Moore, by trying to embarass him and slime his latest effort. They hoped to get the hate radio mongers to talk about this rather than Gonzo and create some "wave of indignation" that would drown out another major car bombing in Iraq or latest scandal. It had a short shelf life.

Boies is a damn good hired gun. Hopefully he'll dig out the proof here...and it probably won't be hard...that the Treasury got a "memo" from the White House...from a krove email account.

8. Why would Moore win an Emmy?
Does he have a TV show?

9. Ooopsie
Fingers and coffee move before the brain did.

Although I'd love to see some of the old Naked Truth shows.

Cheers...
