3. A new voting block? Boy, is he out of touch.
Latinos (if this generalization can be made) vote for Democrats because for the most part we share the same values: family, community, honor labor, democracy.

Bilbray needs to go back to figuring out how to steal his next election.

5. Both sides are scrambling for that voting bloc.
Ain't rocket science, for sure. Rs are trying to get back on schedule with courting the Hispanic vote too, just like they were doing before people became angry. Remember * hanging out and smooching with Vincente Fox? Remember all that Spanish speaking he used to do? Smelled like a political strategy to me.

9. The Hispanic voting block goes to the Dems.
In 2004, Rove floated the notion that the Thugs were gaining in it and that was bullshit.

8. So? I think it is a good idea. We need to unite as a people and stop letting the corporate world
pit us against each other. If we all were citizens and we all united we could mold this country into what we want it to be. United we stand divided we fall. Think about it.

11. In a couple dozen years, "minorities" will be collectively be the majority....
Edited on Thu May-17-07 03:37 PM by marmar
In last year's elections, Democrats won every non-white (or non non-Latino white, to be accurate) ethnic group except Cuban Americans (and as younger Cuban Americans start voting, that will change). The Republicans can see the writing on the wall, and it spells DOOM.
