Source: Reno Gazette-Journal

Fire crews and the Truckee Meadows Water Authority are on scene of a broken water main on Fifth and Virginia streets that caused a pickup to fall into a sink hole. Authorities said the water supply will likely be cut. Water is continuing to gush out the sink hole. No injuries were reported. The media is awaiting a briefing.

3. I dont want to do the tally...way too much work! Incidents like this are
and have been happening all over the country. Remember the under street water main explosions in NTC, Atlanta has had MANY collapses under our streets and sink holes appeared. I know at least one of them in fact Did swallow a truck!I've heard of this nonsense happening all across the country & it's one of the reasons I was so happy that Obama mentioned investing in our infrastruction repair.

I seriously doubt that our eager-beaver congress could possibly get a bill like that written let alone passed before January!

5. I don't know, but I'm 100% in favor of a forum or sub-forum dedicated to these stories.
As much as many of us die-hard Progressives carry on about the need for a huge infrastructure revitalization project in this country, I think such a "one handy place" type of setup would be a great tool to help prove the need to those who may not be aware of just how bad it is out there.
