America has lost its fucking mind
Edited on Sat Sep-11-10 01:24 PM by MrScorpio
How many times in history was it necessary for a president to talk the nation off of the freaking ledge?

9. It's like the end of the Roman Empire, with cell phones and minus some of the slavery.
Our leaders tell us only what we can't do, and our needs are ignored as the very rich loot whatever prosperity remains.

11. Yes it has,
The most powerful nation the world has ever seen. America can project "lethal kinetic energy" any where on the globe 24/7, and it still dominates the world economy, despite a great deal of self inflicted damage. Yet, America has the self-image of a frightened victim, who is willing to trade everything for anything that will enhance it's perceived security, including the values that made it a great nation.
History shows that we never fully lived up to our professed values, but it seems to me that we used to try harder. A cynic would say that everyone has their price, but even if thats true, I'm just surprised that "We the people" have been willing to give up so much for so little in return.

17. By "everyone", what do you mean?
Do you mean that everyone sold out, not just Americans? I'm not sure what your point is.
