Tax rates under $250K should be permanent ? |

How wise is that?
Can we expect to get the revenues needed to run this government from those folks above $250K?
Or will we continue to run huge deficits?
And what would it mean for our infrastructure, our cops, our schools, our roads?
In my opinion, this is very dangerous ground we are treading on. This would be the first step toward our becoming a Third World nation. Taxes are the fees we pay for a civilized nation. When so many folks are exempted from paying their fair shareof taxes, sacrifices will have to be made somewhere. Are we sure this is the direction we want to go??

1. Permanent here doesn't mean permanent |
|
It means they won't automatically expire at a certain date. Congress can always make changes to the tax structure and rates at any time. While the economy is shaky, the continuation of lower taxes for the middle class is a form of stimulus. It can be changed later, when the economy is back in full swing--though, of course, Congress never likes to raise taxes.
